2014 Review: Necropolis

Image
This past weekend we were finally able to check out Necropolis , one of Indy's most infamous haunts.  Admittedly, I hadn't been to Necropolis in probably 8 or 9 years or so.  One thing I remember from back then is that they were notorious for very little change from year to year?  So how do they stack up in 2014? Necropolis, City of Perpetual Darkness The first attraction you're guided to at Necropolis is their namesake haunt -- and let me just start out by saying that I thoroughly loved this attraction!  The detail in the scenes is nothing short of amazing.  The actors were great and kept delivering room after room.  Sound and lighting were great and the overall atmosphere of was everything you're looking for in a great haunt. Hellusions in 3D After Necropolis, you're immediately put into the line for their 3D haunt, Hellusions in 3D.  Now, like I've stated before, I'm a sucker for a 3D attraction, so needless to say I was a little gid...

SCREAMER, An Indiana-Based Haunted House Documentary

Image
Every once in awhile, I find myself Googling different haunted house queries.  And last night I found a documentary titled SCREAMER, a film about the struggles and triumphs of running a Halloween haunted house.  Best part?  It revolves two Indiana haunts!  I don't know how are why I have never heard of this before, but I'm glad I stumbled across it! You can rent the film for $3.99 for 24 hours, which is what I did.  So head on over to the official website to check it out! If you're looking for even more haunted house goodies, then check out THE AMERICAN SCREAM , another home haunt documentary which can currently be found on Netflix and is definitely worth the watch. Want to go one step further?  Then check out the new found-footage horror flick THE HOUSES OCTOBER BUILT -- guaranteed to scare! Happy haunting!

2014 Review: Nightmare on Edgewood

Image
We made our way to Nightmare on Edgewood this past Saturday, and I noticed something I didn't notice last year: they can touch you!  I didn't mind it too much -- in fact, it added a little of that "on edge" feeling I longed for. Schizophrenia The first attraction we entered was Schizophrenia, a psychedelic trip through a clown-infested nightmare.  The layout and design of the attraction was interesting had a great carnival funhouse feel, complete with a midway!  If you're scared of clowns, this definitely is NOT the haunt for you.  But I quite enjoyed it! Hysteria A new attraction for the 2014 season is Hysteria, a haunt that targets your deepest fears.  Now you'd think that this would be the one that would contain clowns, but sadly no.  But that's okay, because the halls were filled with live tarantulas and snakes!  And the floors are littered with bugs and rats.  I can definitely see how this would freak someone out, big time! ...

2014 Review: Indy Scream Park

Image
After a few years of hearing all the hoopla surrounding Indy Scream Park, we finally got the chance to venture up to Anderson to check out the joint.  Upon entering Indy Scream Park, you're immediately hit with a $5 parking fee -- but that turns out to be no biggie considering how organized their parking situation is, there were a dozen or so parking lot employees with lighted batons guiding traffic.  So that $5 fee, well worth it, Once we stepped into the park, we were immediately reminded of  Niles Haunted House Scream Park , which is a major compliment all in itself.  Their midway truly is a Monster Midway, full of games, concessions and even some of cinema's greatest maniacs stalking the grounds -- which turns out to be a really fun photo-op for us and one of our guests (see Jason pic below).  Now on to the events... Note :  All individual attractions are reviewed individually. Backwoods The first attraction we entered was Backwoods, an ou...
